I am a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Case Western Reserve University. My research interests include political economy of development, basic service provision, gender issues in development, and Asian politics.
I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles. My dissertation investigates why democracies often fail to provide basic services needed for human development. I examine the issue in the context of improving sanitation in India. I was previously Visiting Assistant Professor at the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University.
